Description

This theme features maximizing the use of images as a way to give a site a unique look.
It does this by creating a layout that adapts well to a variety of different header videos and header images as well as background images.
It also gives users the option to decide how to allow mobile browsers to utilize images and videos.
Users may find that they can create a unique look by just uploading a video and a few images. Finally, it includes a sticky navbar and slidepanel menu for mobile browsers.

Installation

  1. In your admin panel, go to Appearance > Themes and click the Add New button.
  2. Click Upload Theme and Choose File, then select the theme's .zip file. Click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate to use your new theme right away.

  • Updated the open and close icons html in header.php to include a height and width. Tested WordPress 6.6. No other updates appeared necessary.

  • On the header page, I set the default reference for big_bob_big_header_image to the correct position of "on". And the stylesheet was updated so that links in paragraphs in the slidepanel were underlined and inline. And I registered the default header image.

  • Set the max-width for wide footers to 1800px, and updated the video so that it is not shown on Big Pages.

  • A breaking change appears to have been introduced in the latest wordpress update. A new method of setting the background video had to be implemented in the header.php file. And the .pot file had to be updated.

1.0.3 - December 14, 2022

  • The font size of post and page titles on screens less than 600px was reduced to 25px when a featured image is not displayed.

  • The followiing updates were made:
  1. The links were updated so that they are underlined under the appropriate circumstances.
  2. The screenshot was updated so that it is consistent with the updated links.
  3. The subject tags were updated.

  • This theme is authored by Bob Wilson. It is based on my Big Lights theme. The following updates have been made:
  1. The footer now has a standardized size.
  2. The sidebar now stays parallel to the body. It does not scroll parallel wih the footer. This allows for improved compatibility with browsers.
  3. The custom logo was rewritten to allow users to upload logos with more reckless abandon. Cropping is no longer mandatory.
  4. There are now options to set a larger text title above and below the navbar.
  5. The default fonts and colors have been changed.
